Ascend Hotel Collection has opened the Hotel Elan in Calgary, Alberta. Joining seven other Canadian locations, the opening marks the brand’s 100th hotel and the portfolio’s first in Calgary.
The 62-unit contemporary boutique hotel spans guestrooms and one- and two-bedroom suites appointed with sleek Italian furnishings. All come with conference tables for in-room meetings and balconies with city views, while some offer deep chromatherapy soak tubs and a private exercise room.
“Ascend Hotel Collection plays a key role in our corporate strategy to expand in the upscale segment,” says Steve Joyce, president and CEO, Choice Hotels. “In many ways, the addition of our many Ascend properties is reshaping who we are at Choice.”
Among Ascend Hotel Collection’s other recent additions are the 21 Bluegreen Vacation resorts in locations like Miami, Cape Cod, Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, and Orlando. The collection also plans to expand in New York, the Caribbean, and several international destinations.
