Vienna International Hotelmanagement will operate the 5-Star Astrum Hotel, opening in Shelkovo near Moscow at the end of 2013. Italian arts craftsman and designer Francesco Molon will be responsible for interiors, which will mirror those of a Venetian palazzo. Guestrooms will convey the feeling of a 19th-century salon with heavy curtains, lavish carved ornaments, upholstered footstools, and framed paintings.

A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, the property will focus on wellness tourism and conference travel with the help of a 36,000-square-foot spa and more than 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

The spa will comprise private suites and saunas, minor medical aesthetic procedures, post-operative care of cosmetic treatments at nearby clinics, and an Ayurveda center. Meanwhile, the hotel’s diverse function space will house seven separate event rooms on three floors.
Astrum will also feature a Japanese restaurant with a show kitchen and an intimate French à-la-carte restaurant on the 23rd floor offering panorama views. A sky bar will also be located on the same floor. Additional amenities will include a fitness lounge, a lobby bar, and an exclusive VIP club.
