Auberge du Soleil is set to reveal the next phase of its design evolution in Maison Saint-Tropez-a collection of eight luxury rooms. Unveiling in May, the newly enhanced rooms take their inspiration from the south of France.
Designed by Suzanne Tucker of San Francisco-based Tucker and Marks, Inc., the interiors are fashioned with natural elements-such as cerused oak, leather, and limestone-to depict an air of European sophistication with a bit of edgy glamour. The Maison Saint-Tropez features clean architectural lines that blend French detail with relaxed California style. Slate-inspired roofs, low-profile steel French doors, a palette of ivory, pale cocoa, and hints of apricot, and expansive terraces featuring ipe wood trellises give the rooms a contemporary character.
“As always, I want to keep the Auberge au courant and evocative of a private getaway but also stay true to the original, timeless Michael Taylor vision,” says Tucker. “The beauty and complexity that is found in the South of France is also in Napa Valley-the fantastic light, the views over the vineyards and olive groves, the seasonal colors and, of course, the food and wine, which is unrivaled.”

Each bedroom features custom-designed, handcarved wooden headboards that extend to ceiling above the California king beds, accented with mirrored fretwork and an organic all wool mattress. Suites feature outdoor soaking tubs and showers and private terraces. Skylights drench spa-like bathrooms with natural light-highlighting oversized sculptural soaking tubs, spacious showers and heated limestone floors.
