Banyan Tree Holdings Limited has announced plans to expand its Banyan Tree and Angsara brands globally in 2011. Key openings include:
The Double Pool Villas at Banyan Tree Phuket creates a “resort within a resort” experience. Each of the 24 villas features 14,000 to 26,900 square feet of private land in one, two, and three-bedroom configurations. The accommodations are exclusively tucked away from the world and surrounded by private expansive gardens.
Part of the Galaxy Macau ultra-resort, Banyan Tree Macau (pictured) offers 10 pool villas ranging from 4,800 to 10,200 square feet that feature private gardens, pools, air conditioned cabanas with sliding glass doors, high ceilings and ornate furnishings.
Angsana Laguna Phuket will open in December following a $30 million conversion of the existing Sheraton Grande Laguna. Improvements will be made to the lobby, guestrooms, restaurants, and meeting rooms. The resort will also include a spa and gallery.
Guests at Angsana Velavaru in the Maldives will have access to a handful of F&B options, including Azzuro, a gourmet Italian restaurant; Kaani, serving locate favorites; and Funa, offering fresh ocean catches.
Angsana Bintan resort on Bintan Island, Indonesia, is currently undergoing a major refurbishment program to guestrooms and public spaces, scheduled for completion by mid-year. Other hotels slated to open in 2011 include Banyan Tree Riverside/Shanghai, Angsana Hangzhou, and Angsana Balaclava/ Mauritius.
