Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts will unveil its urban resort concept in China later this year with properties slated for Shanghai and Tianjin. Debuting in October, Banyan Tree Shanghai On the Bund will provide river views from all 130 suites. Accommodations are equipped with large French windows opening onto the Bund thoroughfare and come in different categories. The Romantic Riverside Retreat with Relaxation Pool features panoramic views and an in-suite dipping pool, while the Presidential Suite also will house a private pool.
Amenities will include four F&B outlets; Banyan Tree Spa; meeting facilities; gym with indoor pool; and the Banyan Tree Gallery, which will showcase and sell indigenous handicrafts from around the world.
Meanwhile, Banyan Tree Tianjin Riverside fuses local history and cultural references. The hotel’s 159 suites draw inspiration from the muted tones and refined lines of traditional Chinese ink paintings. Most rooms feature a large French window overlooking the Hai River, while many bathrooms have an oversized round bathtub offering a similar river view. Guests also will have access to several restaurants and bars, as well as the Banyan Tree Spa, when the hotel debuts in November.
