The New York Palace has unveiled its two specialty triplex suites⎯⎯the Jewel suite and the Champagne suite. Set at the top of the Towers in New York, the two 5,000-square-foot suites are the result of a $140 million renovation.

Designed by New York-based BBG-BBGM, the Champagne suite brings together both modern and classic design elements for a glamorous space. Opposite floor-to-ceiling windows is a two-story black and white wall mural created by French artists A&M (Alex et Marine) Tatoueurs de Murs. Under the mural, the dining room uses hewn woods to represent grape presses, which are offset by crystal fixtures and sleek wall finishes. A rustic wine cave is also right off the grand parlor.
The design of the second floor recalls champagne varietals with a palette of soft creams and smoky reds. Chardonnay grapes influenced the decor of the master bedroom suite, which boasts ecru, cream, and amber tones. The bubbly color scheme continues into the suite’s master bedroom.

To contrast these light colors, the guest bedroom suite pulls from Pinot Noir with rose-tinted silver combined with warm copper and deep red accents. A classically inspired library then purposefully layers in more of the traditional elements melded with warm black and bronze color tones. Continuing to the third floor, an outdoor terrace features a Jacuzzi spa, along with a private bar, wood-burning fireplace, and an outdoor reception area.
“Having the chance to curate and create specialty, one-of-a-kind spaces within the confines of a resplendent luxury property was the opportunity of a lifetime,” says Amy Jakubowski, interiors partner and principal of BBG-BBGM. “We saw it as a means to design visionary spaces that offer guests meaningful, multi-sensory experiences unlike any other. It is our hope that guests leave with an impression of luxury not found elsewhere and that will resonate with them well beyond their visit.”
Crafted by jewelry designer Martin Katz, the Jewel suite is adorned in rich fabrics and jewel-inspired tones and finishes to suggest luxury and romance. At the entrance, port Laurent stone floors, diamond-like wallcoverings in soothing jewel tones, a 20-foot chandelier, and ‘floating’ crystal jewel boxes encasing jewelry creations by Katz greet guests. The grand parlor is flooded with light from the suite’s floor-to-ceiling windows, highlighting the grand piano sitting center stage.
The master bedroom on the second floor continues the jewel theme with Art Deco-inspired chairs upholstered in silver and pearl velvet and a Lucite tableau, which also showcases jewels.
“I am thrilled and honored to have been asked to be part of the rebirth of this incredibly iconic hotel,” says Katz. “Our vision of how to excite the luxury client aligned perfectly into this crescendo of the Jewel suite.”
