Best Western International (BWI) has continued expanding in Indonesia with the signing of a new hotel in the business hub of Tangerang, West Java.
Set to open in Q4 of 2013, the seven-story Best Western Serpong has 196 modern rooms and 12 suites with private balconies. The hotel will also have a fitness center, outdoor swimming pool, and a full-service restaurant and lounge.
“We are currently undertaking an unprecedented period of expansion in Indonesia, which will see us more than quadruple our collection of hotels in the country over the next few years,” says Glenn de Souza, BWI’s vice president of international operations for Asia and the Middle East. “Included in this will be at least seven properties in the Greater Jakarta region. As this area expands further in the years ahead, Best Western will be there, growing along with it.”
BWI currently operates one hotel in the Greater Jakarta area⎯⎯the Best Western Mangga Dua Hotel & Residence⎯⎯but the company plans to launch at least seven more properties in the area between now and 2015. Overall, BWI’s Indonesian portfolio is expected to increase from five to almost 25 hotels in the coming years.
