On October 29, 2012, storm water from Hurricane Sandy damaged many businesses in the Seaport area of New York. Among them was the Best Western Plus Seaport Inn Downtown, whose lobby was flooded and destroyed.
General manager ZB Moham and his team began major cleanup and repairs as soon as they could, working around the clock. Within 45 days after the storm, the hotel had a brand new lobby and was again open for business.
As a result of the team’s work and dedication, the hotel received three awards from Best Western International. The M.K. Guertin Award honors properties that demonstrate exceptional levels of service, quality, value, and commitment to the brand. The Champion Customer Care Award recognizes properties that demonstrate and best exemplify exceptional levels of service and care. The Best Western Green Award goes to hotels that commit to sustaining resources and reducing their carbon footprint.
