Citing the economic downturn, Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel is shutting down its hotel, along with the popular coffee shop and keno games in downtown Las Vegas. The casino, poker room, sports book, and Binion’s Ranch Steakhouse will remain open. "This economy has severely affected our operations," Lisa Robinson, a spokeswoman for the property owner TLC Casino Enterprises, tells the Associated Press. "The hotel rooms were just not competitive."
Last week, the new Rush Tower at the Golden Nugget introduced 500 hotel rooms to downtown.
