BLT Architects (BLTa) has been chosen to redesign the landmark Latham Hotel in Philadelphia, recognized by the National Register of Historic places. The project, scheduled for completion in spring 2011, will include transforming the lobby, restaurant, retail, lounge spaces, and operational facilities. “Its location at 17th and Walnut Streets just off Rittenhouse Square makes it the best situated boutique hotel in the city, and we plan to take advantage of that,” says Stanley Tang, principal-in-charge for BLTa. “Our goal is to renovate this landmark and enhance its character while mixing in a little modern Philadelphia sophistication.”
