bluarch architecture + interiors + lighting has unveiled the results of its latest New York project, Segafredo Restaurant Café. The venue, designed as a franchise of the top-shelf Italian coffee brand, takes its inspiration from the act of stirring coffee. Architect and blurach principal Antonio Di Oronzo integrates a custom-designed light fixture on the ceiling. The winding light box-reminiscent of a Mobius strip, which is a loop with a twist in it-is outfitted with warm white LED luminaire that illuminate downward, while an RGB LED luminaire glows upward.

Seating features two sides-one finished with seamed warm beige upholstery to set a more casual mood for lunch, and the other fitted with 6-inch round panels in a deep red velour for an intimate setting for dinner and drinks. Running throughout the restaurant, the travertine floor leads to a lounge that showcases chocolate brown channeled banquettes, oval mirrored tables, and walls clad in soft sheep skin.
