Housed in the former Royal Scottish Automobile Club, the Blythswood Square Hotel has opened in Glasgow. The design of the 100-room boutique property involved a variety of players, including Chard Construction, Ron Galloway Associates, Philip Thomson Associates, Dunwoody Associates, and Graven Images. Interiors feature contemporary bespoke furniture by modus and the use of Harris Tweed on chairs, curtains, and light fixtures. Opening early next year, the Spa at Blythswood Square will feature a seaweed bath chamber, heat suite, and hydrotherapy pool. In addition, the building’s original Rally Bar—named after the Monte Carlo Rally, which started from Blythswood Square in 1955—is being restored to its former glory.
Other details and amenities include Italian marble baths, a signature restaurant, top-floor penthouse complete with rooftop hot tub, event facilities, and private screening room.
