Brannan Cottage Inn is set to reopen October 1st in Napa Valley.
Built in 1860, Brannan Cottage Inn was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Of the 25 original cottages built by the town’s founder Samuel Brannan in Calistoga, California, Brannan Cottage Inn is the only property to remain in its original location and is the only remaining example of the cottages’ original architectural style.
After seven months of extensive restoration and modernization led by Salinas, California-based designer Staci Giovino, the Italianate architecture of the original Brannan Cottage has been preserved and the interiors brought up to modern energy efficiency. The Victorian structure also remains nearly intact, with gabled roofs, a wide wraparound porch, and arch-enclosed entryways that echo the country setting and Western frontier feel.
“We are honored for the opportunity to restore this significant piece of Calistoga history, preserving the past while updating it with the amenities of today’s hospitality market,” says Amar Patel, the hotel owner. “As hoteliers, our ownership is predicated on what’s next for Napa Valley travelers. Brannan Cottage Inn welcomes sophisticated guests who are not only seeking an authentic, deeply rooted destination, but looking to enjoy the technological advances we rely on, as well as the comforts and conveniences of home in an environmentally responsible way.”
