Brooke Denihan Barrett, co-CEO of Denihan Hospitality Group, has been named a 2012 “Woman of Influence” by Real Estate Forum. For a second year in a row, Barrett earned her spot on a list of 45 of the most powerful and prominent female executives in commercial real estate.
Over the past year, she has helped secure Denihan’s first joint-venture, giving real estate investment trust Pebblebrook Hotel Trust a 49 percent ownership stake in six of the company’s core Manhattan assets and raising significant capital to fuel national growth for Denihan. Barrett also opened Denihan’s first west coast development office in San Francisco and restructured the 50-year-old family hospitality business, naming the first non-family member to the position of president.
In 2011, she was a founder of the American Hotel and Lodging Association’s New York and New Jersey Chapter of Women in Lodging.
