Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has announced plans for a Bulgari Hotel in London slated to open in spring 2012. Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio and Partners, along with local architect Squire and Partners will craft a space that exudes luxury.
“The architectural style of the project reflects the rigor of the Bulgari Hotel in Milan. Its classic, solid, contemporary style will consolidate the urban landscape in an area of London that is undergoing a profound transformation,” Antonio Citterio says. “In this sense, the use of Portland stone and bronze, which are typical materials of the architectural style of public buildings in London, and the meticulous façade design reveal a rigorous, modern approach to the theme.”
The 85-key property-which will feature seven Bulgari suites-will be designed with sleek lines and refined color combos using a variety of marbles and fine woods. Silver is the dominant theme of the interior design. The ancient yet timeless metal is a tribute to Bulgari’s origins as a silversmith and to Britain’s manufacturing traditions. Design plans also call for a large ballroom, private cinema, and a spa with fitness center and indoor pool.
