Carlson Hotels Worldwide plans to triple its portfolio in India by 2012. As of 2009, the group had 28 hotels in operation. By 2012, they want 78. Represented brands include Radisson, Country Inns & Suites, Park Plaza, and Park Inn. "We are optimistic about India and its growth prospects as a leading emerging economy," says Carlson president and CEO Hubert Joly. "To be the number one international hotel operator here is particularly pleasing."
