Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group signed 84 hotels in 2011 with another 90 planned to open this year as the company marches toward its “Ambition 2015” strategy. The company has achieved other milestones, including:
- A global pipeline of 1,319 hotels in operation and under development
- 71 percent of new hotels signed are from emerging markets
- 25 percent of Radisson hotels in the U.S. and Canada have completed Property Improvement Plans (PIPs); nearly half of the portfolio expected to upgrade in 2012
- Opened the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago, the brand’s first in the U.S.
- More than 30 Radisson Blu hotels opening in 2012
- One-third of Country Inns & Suites implemented third-generation room prototype, up from 20 percent at the end of 2010
- 84 percent of Country Inns & Suites using non-disposable dining ware
