Boston-based CBT has completed the three-month interior renovation of Hotel George in Washington, DC, which included all 139 guestrooms and suites, corridors, and elevator banks, which now complement the recently renovated lobby, gallery, and meeting spaces.
The design combines classic styles and whimsical attributes that remain authentic to the property’s character. To recall the George’s history, parchment and ink colors fill in the color palette and supersized graphics of the inaugural address create a feature wall in each room.

Rich dark accents contrast with distinctive features such as the custom accent pillows-based on George Washington’s original uniform-which adorn the beds. The design of the bed throw incorporates the service stripe that Washington ordered enlisted men to wear who had served for three years during the American Revolution.

“It’s a combination of traditional and modern elegance,” says Jacqueline McGee, CBT Principal.
