GIFT New York, located within the Grace Hotel in Manhattan, allows guests to soak up the big day at a chic lounge with an indoor swim-up bar and sleek, contemporary décor. There is additional mezzanine seating in the pool area for live, real-time coverage of the events at Buckingham Palace. Live coverage is scheduled to begin at 4 a.m. with the wedding ceremony slated for just two hours later.
For $35, Chicago’s Drake Hotel will be holding an afternoon tea service where guests can enjoy some delectable hors d’oeuvres while enjoying a recap of the wedding and a fashion show by some of the Windy City’s finest milliners. Complete with fake cakes and an aisle runner, the hotel’s Palm Court will be ornamented in replication to the Royal nuptials.
On the west coast, check out Personality Hotels’ “Shag Like Royalty” package, which includes a room at San Francisco’s Kensington Park Hotel, two mini bottles of gin, can of Spotted Dick Pudding, a copy of Knickers in a Twist: A Dictionary of British Slang, and, of course, a supply of Union Jack condoms. The deal is valid through May 15 with rates starting at $189 per night.
