Choice Hotels International continues to move forward on revitalizing two brands in its portfolio. The Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites chains will break ground on five hotels featuring the new Truly Yours prototype, characterized by new FF&E, a bedding program that allows guests to choose between soft and firm pillows, in-room recharge stations for mobile devices, and upgraded fitness rooms and business centers.
Locations for the properties include Houston; Fargo, North Dakota; Bozeman, Montana; Farmington, New Mexico; and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Existing Comfort hotels continue to transition to the brand’s new look; nearly 70 percent of the Comfort system will complete a property improvement plan by the end of 2015. Choice has started to remove hotels that do not meet the new guest satisfaction standard put into place.

Meanwhile, Sleep Inn has implemented its Designed to Dream program into 88 hotels. Focused on serenity, the new design showcases an inviting residential setting, thanks to warm, natural finishes; soft lighting; nature-oriented black-and-white artwork; comfortable furnishings; and accent walls punctuated with a larger-than-life graphic image on the lobby accent wall.
“Guests love the hotels’ contemporary, residential look and feel,” says Mike Varner, senior director and head of domestic brand management for Sleep Inn. “Developers are attracted to the new prototype, which was designed to offer lower construction and ongoing operating costs than other midscale brands.”
