Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is set to open its first European resort. Located in Portugal’s Douro Valley, the property is set to open in Spring 2015.
The 71-room resort, which covers 19 acres, will combine 19th-century architecture with contemporary interiors. An all-day dining restaurant and a specialty restaurant draw upon the fresh produce of the region and from the resort’s own gardens. Additional amenities include a spa and a library.
New York-based Clodagh Design will outfit the isolated resort, which is located 88 miles from Porto International Airport. Six Senses Douro Valley is the 12th property to join the Six Senses portfolio.
