Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig have joined forces with David Rockwell, Rockwell Group, and Maya Romanoff to create a dining environment celebrating the opening of the Broadway show Kinky Boots.
The space is painted in two shades of red: Kinky Boots red-recreated by Romanoff’s workshop for a patent leather look-and Romanoff’s signature Candy Apple red. Laced-up panels in the back intersperse the two hues, while a light floor takes its inspiration from a runway in the show’s finale.
Designed by the Rockwell Group for Romanoff, the Stitched wallcovering provides a tablecloth. Classic Thonet café chairs surround the area. Red crystal Baccarat flutes, Stitched napkin rings, and custom napkins made from Romanoff’s Fabricadazzle make up the setting.
Above the table, a collection of red boots in different styles and sizes hang from the ceiling. Small red light bulbs and wooden shoe forms are then randomly interspersed around the boots for a chandelier.
The Kinky Boots table will be featured at DIFFA’s 16th annual Dining by Design tour, which will take place March 21st through Sunday, March 24th in New York.
