Minneapolis will get a new boutique hotel with the arrival of the Commons Hotel in October. Boasting an industrial schoolhouse setting, the latest offering from Noble House Hotels & Resorts will employ a “geek chic” vibe. “The new Commons Hotel is a destination unto itself, fostering a sense of exploration and curiosity among guests by creating an open and inviting environment for travelers to share their passions,” says Mike Benecke, Noble House president.
The hotel will evoke a sense of nostalgia, with elements such as a firepit in the front drive, fireplace and library lounge in the library, and guestrooms outfitted with leather chesterfield chairs and ottomans. Other amenities include a restaurant and lounge; a Geek Chic suite, featuring personalized concierge service based off the results of the hotel’s signature geek chic profile; and meeting space that will play host to everything from spelling bees to secrets-of-industry lectures.
