Grand Superior Lodge, located in Two Harbors, Minnesota, on Lake Superior, will unveil BLU Ice Bar and Lounge. Debuting for Winter Solstice on December 21st and remaining open until the ice melts, the outdoor space will be crafted by ice carving champion Chris Swarbrick using 200 blocks of ice weighing 350 pounds each. Grand Superior Lodge’s executive chef Dan Lageson will also assist with the creation of BLU. Rope lights in and around the bar will illuminate the entire area, creating an intimate ambience. A menu of specialty drinks will be offered in glasses made of ice, while two ice luges built into the bar chill martinis as they are poured through the ice channel.
