Courtyard by Marriott has broken ground on its first Maui hotel, to be built by R.D. Olson Construction with interiors by Seattle-based Johnson Braund Design Group. The property will offer 138 guestrooms and suites, pool, fitness center, surfboard storage building, convenience market, business center, and more than 1,600 square feet of meeting space.
The hotel’s centerpiece is the Courtyard brand’s reinvented lobby, which fuses high tech, high style, and greater functionality. An interactive GoBoard is packed with local information, maps, weather, and news, while semi-enclosed “media pods” feature flat-panel TVs. In addition, guests check in at individual welcome podiums, rather than the traditional front desk.
