Courtyard by Marriott has unveiled a new prototype for its Europe hotels that targets European travelers. Marriott International says its research shows that these guests want a fresh, simple contemporary design. To that end, guestrooms feature clean lines, natural light, and a Mediterranean color palette with elements such as flexible furniture layout, ample work space complemented by task lighting, and spa-like bathrooms outfitted with a frosted glass door and corner wall highlighted with teak accents.

Meanwhile, public spaces support business travelers’ needs for dining, working, and socializing. Informing the design are deep blue and green hues reminiscent of the rich colors found in the embroidered textiles of the region and the blue water of its seas. The lobby features the brand’s signature GoBoard, an all-day bistro, flexible seating, and a 24-hour market. In addition, the hotels will feature indigenous materials such as European stones and woods.
