Courtyard by Marriott has transformed the lobbies of 500 hotels, representing nearly 60 percent of the brand’s North America portfolio. “When Courtyard set out to redesign and reposition our lobbies, the goal was to create a new kind of place for travelers to congregate that is fresh and relevant,” says Janis Milham, vice president and global brand manager for Courtyard.
The “Refreshing Business” renovation has three key components. Casual-dining outlet Bistro offers sit-down and grab-and-go options, while the 55-inch GoBoard serves as a virtual concierge with touch-screen capabilities to find local attractions. In addition, open seating areas encourage guests to relax or find their own spot to do work.
