Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club in Lenox, Massachusetts, is rebuilding the 18-room Carriage House after a fire destroyed it in December 2010. Architecture firm Cutler Associates based the redesign on original architecture drawings, incorporating elements such as a tower, cantilevered floors, distinctive roof lines, and gables.
Interiors by Hughes Design Associates also recapture the past glory of the building while modernizing it, with features like furnishings with turned legs and finials, fabrics with soft patterns and rich textures inspired by the surrounding Berkshire Mountains, artwork, and glass tile.
