In a project headed by Cauhaus Design, the Crystal City Marriott‘s (Arlington, Virginia) old world-style lobby got a contemporary makeover to create a sophisticated and relaxing entry experience. Textured walls and warm earth tones complement marble floors and leather furnishings throughout the space. Cauhaus also used natural materials, like stone and reclaimed wood, for furnishings and flooring, and recycled materials, such as 55-gallon drums and hammered metals for artwork throughout the space.

Form meets function with the refreshed reception desk featuring three new check-in pods made of dark wood and stone. Semi-private seating nooks add to the ambiance. In keeping with the theme of sophisticated comfort, the hotel’s new American tavern, BELL20, offers comfort food and full cocktail, beer and wine menus.
