Long Island City, New York-based dash design has expanded its operations to Miami, hiring interior designer and architecture professional Paula Azevedo to head up the new office there as principal.
“Having a physical presence in this global business hub will allow us to more readily connect with clients in the Southeast U.S. region, as well as the rapidly growing Latin American and Caribbean markets,” says David Ashen, principal and founder of dash design. “Best of all, we have the right person on board to do so; Paula’s expertise will be invaluable.”

Before joining dash design, Azevedo was principal of her own Miami-based collaborative design consulting firm, pja Create Studios, where she oversaw projects such as the Wyndham Orlando Resort, the Biltmore Hotel in Miami, and Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada, Florida. Prior to this, she spent seven years as a design director at Gettys, where she helped establish the firm’s South Florida presence. During this time, her projects included the Conrad Hilton in Miami; Four Palms Resort in St. Martin; the Ritz-Carlton in Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne, Florida; and Hard Rock Resorts in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, and Cancun, Mexico.
The Miami location will build upon the partnership dash design recently developed with MC Studio in Santiago, Chile. Current work in the region includes a multimillion dollar multi-year renovation to the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino.
