Delano Marrakech has made its debut in the center of the Moroccan city’s Hivernage District. Morgans Hotel Group’s design team partnered with Jacques Garcia to create a hotel that exudes its exotic location, thanks to rich marbles, sumptuous velvet, and other rare textiles. With bold white columns and a ceiling made of handcarved wood, the central rotunda makes a statement in the lobby. In the 71 guestrooms, headboards painted by local artist Noureddine Daifallah and traditional Moroccan lighting bring character.

At Italian restaurant Pomiroeu, red walls, along with a salon wall of gold-leafed artwork, anchor the space. Situated over the hotel’s upper deck, Japanese eatery Namazake features black, white, and claret reds, dark woods, stone finishes, and Asian-inspired accents such as Buddha statuettes. Outdoor rooftop venue Sky Lounge and casual restaurant Galerie also are on the menu. Two more F&B outlets have yet to debut: underground nightclub Suite Lounge opens in 2013, while Bon R, slated for a late 2012 debut, boasts a French Baroque style where seating extents out to the pool deck.

Rounding out the hotel’s offerings is the Pearl Spa, outfitted with women’s and men’s hydrotherapy circuits, a subterranean mosaic pool, and a private hammam featuring its own lounge area, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and two limestone treatment beds.
