Evoking old world charm paired with modern sophistication, the Tuscany, a St Giles Grand Hotel, opens in November next to sister property the Court. Designer Jeff Lincoln of Jeff Lincoln Interiors delivers a “luxurious residential sensibility, a contemporary New York pied-à-terre experience” at the former W Hotel.
The lobby showcases the best of classic and new designs, thanks to wide-plank reclaimed oak floors, a rare Tuscan travertine marble, and a custom-designed polyhedral lacquered desk. Fabrics and lighting fixtures from Italian company Fortuny helps establish the Tuscan look, while is a wall of hand-blown glass panels is juxtaposed against custom wrought iron railings.
Custom oak and leather wall panel systems in the hotel’s 123 guestrooms evoke the craftsmanship of fine Italian leather goods, while elements such as hand-wrought iron impart a residential feel. Glass tile walls and Duravit vanities in the bathroom provide contemporary luxury. Each suite is designed around Maharam’s Digital Projects artistic mural program, where a large wall mural creates a one-of-a-kind experience.
