A former paper mill in Saugerties, New York, is now home to the luxury Diamond Mills Hotel & Tavern. The construction, craftsmen, and design teams took care to reuse and restore the structure’s original elements such as the red brick façade, stacked stone foundation, and paned windows. The boutique hotel’s 30 guestrooms boast private balconies with views of the Esopus Creek Falls; European-inspired furnishings; overstuffed duvets and Egyptian cotton linens; and tiled bathrooms outfitted with oversized walk-in showers, handcrafted antique vanities, and chrome and white porcelain fixtures. The hotel also features the Tavern at Diamond Mills, showcasing cuisine and beverages from the Hudson Valley, as well as 7,000 square feet of function space.
