The Morrison, a DoubleTree by Hilton, has re-opened following a franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide and Martinez Hotels & Resorts and a $9.5 million refurbishment. As the first DoubleTree in Ireland, the hotel boasts 138 rooms and suites focusing on sound and music.

Centering on the city’s prominent music culture, Dublin-based Nikki O’Donnell of Nikki O’Donnell Architects (NONA) designed the hotel to feature lyrics from nearly 30 Irish songwriters and the work of a dozen Irish artists. The décor also pairs traditional architecture with upscale features such as integrated music systems, and mood lighting in three colors-pink, purple, or turquoise. Each guestroom includes a line from songs made by local acts, such as Paul Brady and the Script, highlighting both customary Irish folk ballads and contemporary hits.
In addition to the hotel redesign, Bar Quay 14 and the Morrison Grill restaurant will open on February 11th. The Morrison Dublin also offers 4,413 square feet of conference and event space, which accommodates eight to 240 guests.
“This hotel is a fabulous representation of what our brand is all about,” says John Greenleaf, the global head of DoubleTree by Hilton. “I’m thrilled with the work Nikki O’Donnell has done in bringing to life the essence of Ireland’s rich culture through such a stylish, sophisticated design.”
