Driftwood Hospitality Management has added two new hotels to its portfolio and is renovating five existing properties. The company is now managing the Holiday Inn Express Tampa-Brandon and Courtyard by Marriott Dallas NW Hwy. The following hotels in Driftwood’s portfolio are undergoing significant makeovers:
Sheraton Columbus Hotel at Capitol Square – Acquired by Driftwood in early September, this 400-room hotel is undergoing a $9.5 million top-to-bottom renovation. New exterior signage, sweeping views of the capital, and state-of-the-art meeting space called the Gathering are just a few updates. After acquiring the property in 2011, Driftwood re-flagged the hotel, which was previously a Hyatt. The full revitalization of the property is expected to be completed by September 1st.
DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Wilmington Legal District – A $4 million includes everything from meeting rooms to restaurants and curtains to cappuccino machines. With a focus on art and design, the Driftwood-led renovation here includes new artwork by Arnut Deeyoo.
Fiesta Resort Conference Center – This Arizona resort’s $1 million renovation will be completed in the Q1 2012 and includes updates to the interior and exterior of the property.
Crowne Plaza Downtown Denver – The $1.5 million refurbishment of the bar, lounge, and restaurant is expected to finish in Q2 2012.
Crowne Plaza Hotel Chicago – This $1 million renovation will introduce 150 renovated guestrooms in the second quarter, all of which were completely redone, including updated bathrooms, bedding, closets, and furniture.
