Driftwood Hospitality Management is on track to renovate three recently acquired hotels by the end of 2012. The following properties will undergo upgrades:
A former Hyatt hotel, the 400-key Sheraton Columbus Hotel at Capitol Square in Ohio is undergoing a $9.5 million top-to-bottom renovation and is currently the largest project for Driftwood. New exterior signage, a Link@Sheraton, and a Starbucks have already been completed, while an upscale meeting space called the Gathering is under construction. The project is expected to wrap up by the end of September.
DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Wilmington Legal District in Delaware is undergoing a $4 million, covering everything from meeting rooms to restaurants to curtains. Driftwood also has created unique on-site office spaces, which can be leased by law firms trying cases directly across the street at the New Castle County Courthouse.
Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport at Research Triangle Park will embark on a $7.5 million overhaul in July. Inspired by a Southern mansion, the design features a grand veranda outfitted with wicker rocking chairs and porch swings. Plans also call for a redesigned lobby, meeting spaces, guestrooms, and a new restaurant.
