The DuPont Corian Design Studio has opened in Shanghai, joining locations in Milan, New York City, and Philadelphia. British designer Michael Young says that the space “is adept at bringing eastern and western cultures together, drawing from the rich history of Chinese art and building techniques. As a designer, I pursue innovation that transcends commonness to foster a delightful and vibrant atmosphere. The supreme thermoformability’ and state-of-the-art techniques allowed by Corian helped me bring such innovative designs to life.”
DuPont hopes to turn the design studio-where Corian is integrated with sculpture, furniture, and wall cladding-into a platform for interaction and exchange of ideas among architects and designers, inspiring them to practice unrestrained innovation.
