Durkan, in partnership with NEWH, has launched the Durkan D*SCOVER design competition, established to exhibit the talent of designers in the hospitality design field and contribute toward the education of future designers. In lieu of entry fees, participants need to become a member of NEWH.
Grand prize winners in the student and professional categories win a free trip to Las Vegas in May for the 2010 Hospitality Design Exposition & Conference (HD Expo). In addition, the student winner earns a $3,000 scholarship, while the professional winner gets lunch and a tour of Todd Oldham Studios with Todd Oldham.
