Earvin “Magic” Johnson, chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE), will serve as the closing keynote speaker on the first day of the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), taking place January 27-29th in Los Angeles.
MJE provides high quality products and services that focus on ethnically diverse and underserved urban communities through strategic alliances, investments, consulting, and endorsements. The conglomerate is comprised of multiple business entities and partnerships-including ASPIRE, an African-American television network; Magic Johnson Bridgescape Academies, a high school drop-out prevention program; and Clear Health Alliance, a healthcare provider with a specialty plan for HIV/AIDS patients. Johnson also serves as chairman andfounder of the Magic Johnson Foundation, which provides HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention programs, community empowerment centers, and the Taylor Michaels scholarship program.
Co-hosted by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and Burba Hotel Network (BHN), the two-and-a-half-day ALIS event will feature an array of seminars and panels hosted by experts and investors. Proceeds from ALIS benefit the educational, research, and training missions of the American Hotel & Lodging Education Foundation (AH&LEF), AH&LA’s nonprofit affiliate.
