Forward-looking data about European hotel bookings for August shows London and Paris rank second in the hotel bookings stakes this summer. Summer bookings are on the rise in the UK, as half of London hotel rooms are booked on average throughout August (50.6 percent). This represents a 5.8 percent rise in bookings on the same dates in 2013.
In Paris, half of rooms are booked, on average, throughout August (50.6 percent), showing a 4.2 percent increase on bookings at this point in the booking window compared with 2013. One in three rooms are already booked for the first weekend in August. This is a vast increase on 2013 bookings-a 45.6 percent growth for August 1st and 26 percent on August 2nd.
More than a third of hotel rooms in Barcelona are already filled throughout August (37.5 percent on average). The first weekend of August has the highest demand, with committed occupancy at 56.5 percent and 58.1 percent on the Friday and Saturday nights, respectively.
Growing in popularity for summer breaks is Prague. More than one in five hotel rooms in the Czech Republic capital city are booked for the first weekend in August. This represents an increase of 21.9 percent and 22.2 percent on the same dates in 2013.
