Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will reopen the historic Pekin Hotel in Moscow sometime in 2017. The 236-guestroom hotel will include a variety of modern amenities and dining options, but the property’s true star will be the design. Original architect Dimity Chechulin, who also built Moscow’s White House, completed the Pekin Hotel in 1955 as part of the city’s post-war redevelopment. The original façade and internal spaces will be meticulously restored and recreated throughout the hotel. Chinese motifs, uncovered during the restoration process, will also be showcased to highlight the property’s period design.
