Felcor Lodging Trust has acquired the site of the former Knickerbocker Hotel in New York City. Located at 42nd Street and Broadway, the Beaux Arts building will return to its glory with a restoration resulting in 330 luxury guestrooms averaging 400 square feet. Scheduled for completion in late 2013, the property also calls for restaurants, a rooftop bar, meeting rooms, and a fitness center. Felcor intends to operate it as an independent hotel under the Knickerbocker name.
