Doubletree has opened its first resort in Asia, Doubletree by Hilton Resort, Wuxi-Lingshan. Facing China’s third-largest lake, the 487-key property has been designed as a tranquil retreat from urban life that complements the natural surrounding landscape and neighboring heritage sites. Hong-Kong based MIP was responsible for interiors, while ACLA handled the landscape design.
The lobby features lounge areas on elevated platforms surrounded by streams, reflecting the serenity and prosperity of water. The space also houses a life-sized two-mast traditional Chinese sailing ship designed to honor the rich history of Jiangnan Province and its network of waterways. Offering views of either the hillside or the lake, guestrooms have design accents that encapsulate the local Jiangnan architecture and style. Balconies provide 180-degree vistas of the area, whilte built-in bathtubs enable guests to unwind while taking in the view.
Meeting facilities encompass a 54,000-square-foot crescent-shaped conference center with 18 multifunctional rooms, as well as two large banquet halls. The resort also offers several F&B concepts and an expansive recreational area for everything from basketball to karaoke.
