Designed by Gensler, the 187-room Four Seasons Hotel Pudong, Shanghai has opened its doors within the Four Seasons Hotel Pudong, Shanghai has opened. The property is located within the 21st Century Tower, known locally as “the jewel box.” Responsible for interior design, Wilson Associates takes its inspiration from Shanghai’s golden age of international trade and culture in the 1920s and ’30s Art Deco period. A rich color palette of Shanghai red, black, and gray plays against materials such as smoked glass, Makassar ebony wood, stingray leather, mirror finishes, and high-grade marble.

Guests have access to two restaurants. The street-level Camelia, envisioned by SPIN Design Studio, showcases a whiskey bar and wine lounge, along with a terrace. Meanwhile, AB Concept Design has incorporated five private dining rooms within the exclusive Shang-xi restaurant. Each is named for a precious gemstone that inspires its sumptuous décor: Pearl, Amber, Purple Jade, Agate, and Jade.
At the FLARE Spa, treatment rooms include two luxurious suites with whirlpool and rainshower for couples. Other elements include a fitness center with sauna, steam rooms, and ice fountains; a brine inhalation room in the men’s area; and a tepidarium room, which is a Roman-style bath with heated floors and walls; and an indoor lap pool offering skyline views. The hotel also features more than 8,600 square feet of meeting space and an executive club. In addition, the property’s 73 private residences, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, come with full hotel privileges.
