Thompson Hotels has plans to redesign the Smyth Tribeca in New York. The revamp will be completed late this year.

Reflecting Tribeca’s rich history and vibrant culture, the Smyth will relaunch as an eclectic home away from home, fusing warm architectural elements and mid-century modern design. New York-based firm Gachot is leading the redesign, which includes new food and beverage programming by chef Andrew Carmellini and his partners Josh Pickard and Luke Ostrom.

Renovations will also include a light refresh of the hotel’s 100 guestrooms, including the Smyth suite. During the transition, Smyth Tribeca will remain open for hotel stays with guest access to the penthouse and terrace functioning as a temporary guest lounge.
