Chef-owner Yew Aun Lim and co-owner Liling Ong are set to open Cicheti restaurant in the Arab Quarter of Singapore on November 30th.

To reflect its Italian cuisine, the name ‘Cicheti’ recalls the signature snacks served in Venice’s bàcari, or wine bars. GEE Global created the restaurant’s character with a hand-drawn logo identity depicting a stylized bull with wings⎯⎯a symbol of the ancient Italic tribes as well the traditionally artisanal wood-oven baked Neapolitan pizzas. Taking cues from the language and gastronomy of Italy, the design integrates these playful references into each element of the restaurant.

“Cicheti offers a distinctive perspective on Italian cuisine, presented in an urbane space where old-world charm is brought into modern design,” says Ong.

Led by Gee Global and completed in collaboration with Singapore-based WATG Design, Cicheti’s interiors employ a blend of mixed-use materials like stone, wrought iron furnishings, leather accents, and weathered oak tables to integrate old world allure and modern sensibility. Copper-like layered walls, signature ‘tattooed’ dining chairs, and an ‘invisible cloud chandelier by Castor Design-featuring more than 2,000 recycled light bulbs of varied dimension and color-add to the atmosphere.
