The Houston and Los Angeles offices of San Franciscoâ€â€œbased Gensler are currently working on designs for Hotel Alessandra in downtown Houston.
The 25-story, 225-key hotel is being built at the intersection of Main and Dallas and will be connected via skybridge to GreenStreet-the reincarnation of the former Houston Pavilions retail center. Special features include a dichroic glass skin, a retractable glass roof over the rooftop pool deck, and an LED lighting feature that will illuminate the building’s base and the tower.

Guests will arrive in a glass atrium that provides a view of the whole hotel tower, and check in on the sky lobby level on the 24th floor, which boasts panoramic views of the city below. The atrium will also contain the ballroom, conference facilities, and a fitness area.

The hotel will break ground this summer with completion scheduled for Q3 of 2016, in time for the Super Bowl.
