Chicago-based firm Gettys has completed a renovation project for Homewood Suites by Hilton, the Take Flight program, which launched with the opening of the redesigned flagship location in Memphis.
Homewood Suites’ Take Flight program is a comprehensive refresh of the brand’s 325 locations utilizing both Gettys’ interior and brand design teams. The goal of Take Flight is to implement a holistic refresh to all of the brand’s properties⎯⎯including updates to the look and feel, redefining the brand voice, re-optimization of space, brand training, and new collateral.

Under Take Flight, guest suites emphasize a residential touch and feature lighter colors, upholstered headboards, new bedding packages, larger entertainment centers, pendant lighting, and flexible furnishings. The properties also embrace the outdoors with a front porch experience at the entrance, complete with open seating in front of a fireplace. An open and sociable semi-private home office space will also replace the former formal business center.
With the outdoor patio and kitchen, the lodge will be extended with a central fireplace, tea-height tables, a communal wing table, and flexible seating. The dining area features a refreshed pantry with pendant lighting over a center island and updated cabinetry and tiling, along with porcelain floor tile mimicking a modern day kitchen.
“This project is a great example of Gettys’ breadth of services and depth of expertise in interior and brand design,” says Ron Swidler, principal of Gettys. “Our brand design team applies hospitality trend insights, research, workshops, graphic, and experience design to extend Gettys’ interior design mastery beyond the built environment into other touch points and signature service elements.”
