GETTYS has promoted two of its team members. Duk Kim was promoted to principal from vice president, and Daniel Pierce was promoted to principal from design director.
Kim is a veteran of the design industry and the leader of GETTYS Chicago Design Studio. He joined GETTYS more than three years ago and his international expertise has led him to oversee project work including the new-build Resorts World-Manila in the Philippines, the Sheraton D3 – City Hotel in Seoul, and a planned new-build environmentally sustainable development in Costa Rica.
Meanwhile, Pierce balances and directs all phases of interior architecture, design, and strategic branding and innovation projects within his studio. His recent project work includes the rebranding and conversion of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, the contemporary new-build Shijiazhuang Retail Complex in China, the renovation of a luxury beachfront resort in Dubai, and design innovation assignments for several global hospitality brands.
