Glen Coben of New York-based Glen & Company has completed Archer Hotel New York, a new build luxury hotel in Manhattan’s Garment District.

The 180-room hotel pays homage to its neighborhood heritage with industrial touches. Along with a quartet of residentially inspired room designs, the property features a David Burke restaurant and rooftop bar. Glen & Company created four room types for Archer where items such as custom drapery, headboards, ottomans, throw pillows, and blankets vary to give each room a unique identity.

“In a home you would not create each and every bedroom to be identical,” says Coben. “The same thought process held true as we developed Archer’s guestrooms-there’s a certain charm and beauty in the randomness of your stay.”
Unconventional elegance comes into play in the lobby with a custom designed and curated furniture collection, coupled with artwork by digital and video artist Artie Vierkant.

“Archer is not just a hotel. It’s a personality, an eclectic way of being, and a welcoming residence,” says Cheryl Gilliam, SVP brands and marketing for LodgeWorks, the hotel’s owner and developer. “Guests are meant to feel as if they are entering a home in many ways. It’s a place that might have been here before; timeless in some ways, yet of today in many more. It’s a new American classic.”
Archer Hotel New York is slated to open in late May.
